With the elimination of RDAs, the implementation of economic development projects and programs has become more complicated and time consuming. Though it isn’t impossible, it will take a certain understanding of the red tape, specific tools to be utilized and a concerted team effort to achieve success. The Panel will discuss what’s left over as tools, specifically, in the areas of finance district creation, fee enhancements, and the liberalization of land use regulations which can be used to spur economic development in the core areas of cities.
The Panel will consist of professionals that are well versed in the means of implementing projects within the new post-redevelopment landscape. Larry J. Kosmont CRE, President and CEO of Kosmont Companies will serve as the Moderator for the Panel and offer his insight to the ever-changing strategies in this area of real estate development.
